What Is Live Chat? - How Does It Work?

One moment you are peacefully browsing our web site, reading away, watching videos, having a real worthwhile time and generally minding your own business, when suddenly, out of the blue, a big dialog box opens on your screen all by itself - then some unknown, disembodied person types into it "Hello. Welcome to MCS International". What on earth is going on? Well, that would be me, Gordon, MCS International's Founder, playing around with the latest addition to our site: Live Chat!

The software technology is called "In2Site" and, as a savvy PC owner, you are probably already familiar with the concept. If you have ever logged on to your PC Tech Support people and got your problem sorted out in real time by typing live messages back-and-forth, then you will feel right at home with MCS International's Live Chat service. The only difference here is that only I can initiate the contact. After that though it's a real two-way flow.

This is how it works: I have found a some spare time and I am sitting at my PC - perhaps working on the development of MCS International - and I have my Live Chat application running in the background. As luck would have it (or perhaps by prior arrangement) you chose that very time to visit MCS International. As your browser loads up your landing page my Live Chat application alerts me to the fact that our web site has just received a visitor, and offers me the opportunity of opening up a dialogue box - on your screen - for a short two-way chat. And it is as simple as that. You can chose to chat - or ignore the invitation completely by simply closing the Live Chat dialog box on your screen. In any event you will need to have "pop-up's" enabled for our site for the service to work at all.

In testing I've so far managed to have a brief but surprisingly animated chat with myself However, our hosting service is presently having some kind of teething problems at their end with the In2Site software which is impacting on the reliability of the service. So, all may not, in fact, run very well for a wee while or so. When the problem is finally sorted out I will remove all mention of the problem from this page so that you know that all is well.

Hope to chat with you soon...
