P O Box 40002 Olympia, WA 98504-0002 Dear Governor Gregoire, Washington State has been a leader in the health care field and in promoting awareness of environmentally caused health problems; a trend that continues to this day. One of your stated four key health goals is "to improve the health of Washingtonians." In 2005 and 2006, you signed a proclamation designating the month of May as "Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Awareness Month” in Washington State. You also urged all citizens to support the understanding, education, and research of Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS). In 2006 twenty-five other governors also signed either MCS or Toxic Illness proclamations, but you were the first to do so in 2006. Washington State has been key in understanding MCS and it is listed in the state's disability handbook, as well as being listed as a medical condition under RCW 70.162.005. Myself and the two other persons listed below would like to request that you please also consider signing a proclamation this year for May 2007 to be "Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Awareness Month" in Washington State.
